09/09/2011 - Ridsdill Leaves the Mangers Hot seat.
Ridsdill joins Atherstone Town Reply with quote
Polesworth FC would like to announce that Craig
Ridsdill has decided to take the opportunity to return to playing football in
the Midland Football Alliance with Atherstone Town FC from immediate effect.

Craig joined Polesworth prior to last season and took Polesworth to win
the League Division 3 in his first season loosing just 1 game. And picking up
the Ernie Brown Trophy too.

Craig bought in talented players and a
professional approach, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank
Craig. Craigs decision was taken as he relished the challenge of working with
Atherstone Town as he sees them as a sleeping giant and hopes to assist in
returning Atherstone back to former glories.

05/05/2011 - Polesworth FC wrap up Midland Combination title

INKBERROW 1 POLESWORTH FC 5

POLESWORTH wrapped up the Division Three title in style as they hammered Inkberrow on Saturday.

They had to come from a goal down to secure victory, as Brad Algar fired the home side into the lead.

Polesworth quickly levelled as Lee Reynolds released Dale Farley. He was brought down in the box but Ant Fallon fired home from the spot.

Polesworth turned the screw after the break and started to play some excellent football.

They went ahead on 65 minutes through Farley.

Fallon then bagged two to complete a hat-trick and Farley netted his second to secure the title.

Polesworth secretary Dave Thomas said: "It was a magical day for everyone connected with the club. We are all still buzzing from what happened.

"A lot of credit for this has to go to the manager, Craig Ridsdill.

"He came to us at the start of the season and said to the committee that, if we could take care of everything else, he would put a team of quality players together.

"Fair play to him, because he did everything he said he would. He brought some superb players into the club and they have delivered a league title."

Polesworth suffered a title hangover as they lost 5-1 to Aston on Monday.

20/05/2010 - Ridsdill looks forward to fresh challenge as part of a five-year progress plan in hotseat

CRAIG Ridsdill is aiming to replicate his success as a Midland Combination player after taking up the managerial reins at Polesworth.

The much-travelled defender – still only 30 – has enjoyed stints at a host of Midland Combination clubs in his career, including Mile Oak, Bolehall and Polesworth's former incarnation North Warwick.

But his greatest achievements have come as captain of Dosthill Colts – skippering the side as they surged through the leagues to the Premier Division.

"I went to Dosthill and they were in Division Two at the time," said Ridsdill, who will be assisted by Ian Mardling.

"I was 27 or 28 at the time and Paul Billing sold the club to me. I captained the club during back-to-back promotions and we had a good FA Vase run as well.

"To be part of that squad was superb and it means I know what it takes to in promotions at this level."

Ridsdill added: "Once Dosthill got into the Premier Division, I thought, what do I want to do now?

"I had a little spell with Castle JKS in the same division and had a decent season. Then the committee at Polesworth asked if I was interested in being manager.

"I wanted to get involved in management so it was a great opportunity for me."

He added: "It's nice to be here because I was at Polesworth North Warwick before the club was disbanded and it was a great club.

"The committee here now want to develop the club and it's an exciting time.

"We have a vision for the club – a five-year plan – and we want to start moving it back up through the leagues.

"Hopefully we can recreate the success Dosthill had in moving through the leagues.

"It's all about promotion next season – we want to get out of the division and push on. That has to be the goal.

"I have a lot of experience of the Midland Combination and plenty of good contacts.

"It's going to be a great challenge for me and one that I'm looking forward to

13/05/2010 - Ridsdill takes over as Polesworth unveil a five-year plan

POLESWORTH FC have appointed Craig Ridsdill as their new manager.

He replaces Dave Thomas who is relinquishing his role to become club secretary.

Ridsdill arrives from Castle Vale JKS and the Defender will take on the role of player-boss at the Midland Combination Division Three side next season.

Polesworth have enjoyed a decent first season since returning to Saturday football, finishing 11th in the league.

Committee member Paul Barton said: "We have a five-year plan in place now to get this club into, at least, Division One of the Midland Combination.

"But, hopefully, we can take the club into the Premier Division in that time – that's the aim.

"We have big plans for the ground and will be working on a number of things such as a five-a-side pitch, small stand and relaying of the pitch during the summer. We are hoping to take the club forward after a good first year."

Among the developments at Polesworth is the introduction of under-14s and under-15s youth teams.

The sides will be managed by Dave Gould and will be playing in the Central Midlands League against teams such as Swindon.

Polesworth have announced a number of pre-season friendlies for July.

They will travel to Measham on July 3 before visiting Ravenstone in Coalville on July 10.

The Poles will also head to local rivals Witherley United on July 17 and will visit Skegness Town on July 31.
